My Writings

Essential Teachings:  a brief summary in twelve points.

Universalist Radha Krishnaism (PDF)  (HTML): This essay is derived from Process Theology: an Introductory Exposition, by John B. Cobb Jr. and David Ray Griffin. It is my latest, most developed synthesis of process theology with Radha Krishna devotion as taught by Krishna Chaitanya. The two form a harmonious combination that provides new insights.

Universalist Radha Krishnaism 2 (PDF) (HTML): In this attempt to define Universalist Radha Krishnaism, I approach it using The Philosophy and Religion of Sri Caitanya by O.B.L. Kapoor. Starting from this excellent exposition of Chaitanyaism, I show how its core teachings form the core of Universalist Radha Krishnaism. We continue the teachings of Chaitanya in contemporary language.

A Scholarly Survey of Radha Krishna Devotion: Here I comment on a scholarly discussion of the devotional tradition coming from Krishna Chaitanya and how it relates to my teachings.

Science and Religion: This is Universalist Radha Krishnaism's position on the relationship between science and religion.

The Chaitanya Movement’s Social Perspective:  In this essay I show the radical, progressive, egalitarian nature of Chaitanya and his movement. I call for devotees to engage in progressive causes today. We should seek spiritual growth and social reform as compliementary devotional processes.

Chaitanya's Teachings Revisited: A comentary on passages from Bhaktivinode Thakur's Sri Chaitanya Shikshamrita geared toward an indiginous Western approach to Radha Krishna devotion.

Nonsectarian Radha Krishna Devotion:  This is based on Bhaktivinode Thakur's Sri Krishna Samhita and shows how his ideas are especially relevant today.

God As Mother:  A brief introduction to the Brahma-vaivarta Purana and its alternate telling of the Radha Krishna myth.

A Post-Modern Revisioning of Radha Krishna Devotion:  a comparison of two different ways to worship God-dess.

Faith and Doubt: A reflection on the relationship between faith and doubt and how doubt can lead to stronger faith.

FAQs About My Beliefs

What It Is: A spontaneous, intuitive approach to my theology.

Chaitanya's Teachings: This article was originally published in “Back to Godhead” in 1969 as a review of Teachings of Lord Chaitanya by my initiator guru, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami. I recently re-edited it.

Sikshastakam: I wrote these "Sikshastakam" purports while living in India as a renunciate in the early 1970s. They were originally published in "Back to Godhead". I re-edited and updated them. "Sikshastakam" is a collection of eight verses which summarize the teachings of Krishna Chaitanya, whom his followers consider to be the incarnation of the divine couple, Radha Krishna, in one body. He lived in India, 1486-1534. He taught us how to love God and follow the path of devotional service, through his example as well as the extensive teachings he provided his disciples.

Be Humbler Than a Blade of Grass This is an adaptation of two lectures given by Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur.  It was published in the "Brijabasi Spirit," 1981.

Seclected Writings: A collection of poetry and short prose written over a twenty year period.
